Bridging the Gaps: From Data to Action is an interactive workshop that explores current perinatal health trends, the important work of Maternal Mortality Review Committees (MMRC), and how data can drive real change. This workshop is ideal for graduate programs in public health, nursing, social work, medicine, health policy, and related disciplines seeking to provide experiential learning that connects classroom concepts with real-world public health practice.

Participants will take part in a mock MMRC meeting and learn about how multidisciplinary groups can turn recommendations into action to advance equity and improve outcomes in perinatal health.

The workshop will explore:

  • Current perinatal health trends and disparities in Philadelphia and beyond

  • The critical work of Maternal Mortality Review Committees

  • How data can drive meaningful policy and practice change

  • Practical application of this work in Philadelphia
