I want to confirm my pregnancy.
Pregnancy symptoms can feel different for everyone — and some people don’t feel any changes at all. Here are some signs and symptoms of early pregnancy:
Missed period
Breast/chest pain
Irregular bleeding or spotting
Fatigue
Nausea and vomiting
Cramping
Constipation
Mood swings
Bloating
Pregnancy Tests
The best way to confirm a pregnancy is to take a pregnancy test. Home pregnancy tests are available at healthcare sites, pharmacies, and other retail stores.
Home pregnancy tests work just as well as tests in the clinic.
It can take about two weeks after a missed period for a pregnancy test to come back positive.
Make sure you follow the instructions that come with the pregnancy test, including how long to wait before reading the results.
If you miss a period or don’t get regular periods and think you may be pregnant, but your pregnancy test is negative, repeat the test in two weeks.
For youth under 18
You don’t need a parent or guardian to get a pregnancy test. Talk to your doctor about what stays confidential and any concerns you have about privacy.
Free Home Pregnancy Tests Available
Free home pregnancy tests are available in the public health vending machine in the lobby of the Mazzoni Center. No ID needed. If you prefer to take an in-clinic test, here are trusted free or low cost walk-in testing sites:
You can also ask your primary care provider or OB-GYN to be tested.
