Safer Childbirth Cities collaboration

In 2019, the Philadelphia Department of Public Health, in collaboration with the Health Federation of Philadelphia, received funding from the Safer Childbirth Cities Initiative through Merck for Mothers.  The goals of this funding were to:
1. Develop a community-driven and multi-disciplinary coalition composed of maternal and health stakeholders, alongside lived experience experts to move recommendations developed by the Philadelphia Maternal Mortality Review Committee (MMRC) into action.
2. Scale up existing maternal health initiatives in Philadelphia that align with recommendations from the Philadelphia Maternal Mortality Review Committee (MMRC).
A total of six organizations are funded by the Safer Childbirth Cities Initiative to enhance existing programs focused on improving maternal health in Philadelphia.
